This was our first experience of Worldpackers and our host, Danilo, made it a really great one. Before we arrived, he was very quick to respond to questions and advising us on the bus route from San Jose. He was very friendly and explained the work he wanted doing each day. The work was straightforward and not strenuous - raking leaves, cleaning windows, etc. Danilo was keen to stress I shouldn't work too hard, and just enjoy staying there. We had the weekends off and visited the local beach, Playa Blanca, Puerto Jimenez and the Corcovado national park. All were definitely worth a visit.

I would recommend this host to other world packers. Warm welcome and comfortable accommodation. Met us from the bus and that was helpful as it was dark by the time we arrived. Kitchen area had everything we could need to cook meals and wash-up. Clear instructions and tasks to complete on our work days. Good English and helped me improve my spoken Spanish. Helpful with tips on how to get about, where to shop, get haircuts and what to see locally. Made a really enjoyable first experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience staying at Danilo's! I highly recommend it. You will learn so much about Costa Ricans & their welcoming culture. The teaching experience was 1 of the best ever! And Google Translate is useful, everywhere, especially in town. I spent a lot of time in the cabin when it rained and I had no complaints about my accommodations. I had everything I needed in a clean space. I stayed 2 weeks in October, the rainiest month. It rained every day, but not all day. There were beautiful birds and small animals to see, always. Puerto Jimenez beach is ~$10 RT by taxi.
