Description

Hope you understand! When the volunteers have completed their activities, we as the host and team will give the volunteers the freedom to explore the surrounding nature, such as rivers, waterfalls, sunset spots on the beach, see the incandescent lava that comes out of the top of Mount Merapi every 5 minutes, also visit some art galleries and art production studios.

We are based in Kaliurang Yogyakarta, Indonesia. We have a collaboration space that offers art and culture as a big idea for activities, here we formulate a work programme of cultural exchange and knowledge about the natural and social situation that exists in Indonesia. activities that will be displayed with big ideas of artculture, namely several concepts such as social culture, -Art culture, -Traditional culture, -Art gallery, etc.

An experience like no other. Didn't really know what to expect before I arrived but left feeling like another home and family away from my country. It's so relaxed!! making art, trying new things, cooking, music and nature, it's everything you need! I would recommend going by this place to everyone that loves those things above ^. The only struggle sometimes is that a lot cannot speak English (well). But they definitely still try to make you feel at home. Can't wait to go back!! 🤍

I had the BEST TIME in Yogyakarta thanks to the lovely people from Coffee Wae and the community! 🩷 A special thanks andd shout out to Mifta, Jabrik and Acif for making everyday even better than the last, getting me back in touch with my artistic and musical side and showing me all the beauty and love that the locals in Yogyakarta have to offer! If you're still deciding whether to go or not: YES it is SO worth it and you will have the BEST time of your life! 11/10!

I had a great time here and would love to come back! There are two art communes: Coffee Wae and the community. Coffee Wae is near the city center while the community is near Mt. Merapi. They each have their own charm and I loved that both communes are surrounded by nature. Naufel was very responsive. Jabrik and Miftah took care of everything for us. The owners, Asif (Coffee Wae) and Nyong (the community), were both kind. Note that this isn't a work exchange and and the fees go toward the meals, activities and transportation.

I had an amazing time during my stay, it felt like a home away from home. There is a big art community in Jogja so if you're looking for a way to experience both music and art in all forms this is the place to be. There was jamming every night which was such a lovely way to spend my evenings connecting with new people. One of their mottos at the community was “SLOW” which coming from a western speed of living was such a blessing to really feel the time to enjoy all the beauty around me. Life goes by so fast and at my stay every moment was truly magical! Thanks to all and see you in the future
