The Experience

Our project's goal is to support human activities in ways that don't harm and only enhance habitat health. We're looking for volunteers to help us to start and maintain a new food garden in our community. The main tasks are: shoveling, raking, planting seeds, harvesting seeds, moving, stacking rocks and maintaining and improving infrastructure. You'll have the opportunity to learn practical skills from experts in permaculture!

Getting involved with the project was awesome! It was really cool to be part of a project like this. Kat was a wonderful host and such an inspiring woman! It's in a wonderful location as well, and you can see around where sustainable use of the land has made an impact. Thank you!

I had the most fulfilling and heartwarming experience with Kat this week. I helped Kat and her organization SkyHarvest with Project Oasis, an initiative that aims to help the town of Bowie. The project is meaningful and important, and Kat took into consideration individual strengths and interests when assigning tasks. I enjoyed the work very much. Kat really took good care of me. She is a wonderful lady who shows genuine passion for life, and curiosity and care toward people she encounters; I have learned much from her. I felt like I found a home away from home and was very sad to leave.
