The Experience

Embark on an exciting adventure with us at our stunning 7,500-square-foot Neo-Gothic Victorian house, built in the 1890s. Nestled just a stone’s throw from the world-renowned 'Town of Books'—Hay-on-Wye—and moments away from Offa's Dyke, the historic path that separates Wales and England, this is a unique opportunity to dive into a rich tapestry of history and natural beauty.

Dan and Sarah were welcoming and communicated what tasks needed to be done before work every day. The hours were sufficient for the exchange of accommodation and space. The local town was about a 25 minute walk- perfect to discover on the weekends. I would recommend this experience to someone who is looking for an adventure out there!

This was my first worldpackers experience and I was absolutely blown away the entire time! Sarah was an incredible host: energetic, encouraging and welcoming! The house is huge and beautiful, straight out of a fairytale, and the town down the road is just as charming. Most of all I loved meeting and growing close to the other incredible team of volunteers I was working with! Our hours were respected and we worked wonderfully as a team! Overall this was an amazing adventure and once in a lifetime experience :)

Gorgeous place, host was super welcoming and kind. Great community to hang out with after working hours - we had lots of fun! The working hours are absolutely doable, volunteers were met with trust and respect. Plenty of time off to explore the stunning landscape. An overall great experience!
