My 3 weeks volunteering in East Lombok were nothing short of amazing! Uncle Ahyak, Opan, and his family welcomed me as their own, and the kindness of the local community made me feel right at home. Grateful for Masjho and Ryan for kindly driving us around. Teaching English to the kids was so heartwarming & rewarding—their smiles made every moment special. I truely am deeply grateful for my experience with mr Ayak, his family and community. I learned so much about the importance of community, sustainable tourism and local culture. I was warmly welcomed by everyone I met. I highly recommend to everyone to try this experience. For my first time volunteering this was a beautiful learning experience. The home stay I stayed at was run by Mr Ayak's brother's family. Mr Ayak has about 100 different home stays that he helps promote for tourism. I now feel like I have a family in Lombok now.

Ahyak and his family are incredibly warm and welcoming, and made sure that I was comfortable and had what I needed. Moreover, I was introduced to various different communities that my host is involved in which was very insightful and valuable. Ahyak's nephews were happy to drive me to places and show me around the island. I got to explore different parts of Lombok, meet locals and really dive into the local culture and environment, away from the typical touristy hotspots. This was such an enriching experience that I will not forget. A massive thank you to Ahyak and his family for welcoming me.

My experience here was fantastic, I have learnt so much about sustainable tourism and it is brilliant to see how Ahyak engages with his community. His family, Mas Jho, Opan and Ryan were brilliant.
