Best Hotel: Park Hyatt Sydney, NSW

It’s tick, tick, tick for Sydney and Melbourne’s big-name hotels this year, but Sydney’s Park Hyatt (and its ridiculously coveted location) rules them all, stealing the crown from last year’s winner Saffire Freycinet (and long-time favourite Crown Towers Melbourne) to come out on top for the first time in award history.

QT Sydney, Australia’s quirkiest five-star hotel, also made it to the list for the first time, suggesting we’re looking for something a little different from hotels these days.

Judging by the looks of the rest of the list, which notably included mentions of personality-driven stays like Melbourne’s Art Series hotels (specifically, The Cullen and The Olsen), Sydney’s ‘foodie’ Four Seasons, and Hunter Valley’s Chateau Elan, we’d have to agree with that.
